Questionnaire Analysis

Most of the people who answered my survey were between the ages of 16 and 24. I also found out that this is the type off age group who most commonly buy music magazines. I found out that the most popular music genres for my target audience (ages 16 - 24) are pop, rock and RnB. This will help me decide what kind of theme to base my music magazine on and which artists to include according to the genres.
I found out that from the people who buy magazines, most buy around one or 2 a month, so I think I will make the issues of my magazine monthly as the target audience are more likely to buy every issue. I also found out that the average the target audience would be willing to pay is between £2.00 and £4.00, which will help me decide how much to charge.
Most people voted for a mix of simplistic layouts on pages and very busy pages. I will try and incorporate both in order to attract the target audience. There was a big mixture in response to what types of colours the target audience would want to see, but some of the most popular were purple, yellow, red and blue. Most participants mentioned that they wanted bright and bold colours, rather than dark and dull ones.
The younger participants in my survey mentioned that they wanted to see a lot of posters, competitions and celebrity gossip, where as some of the older target audience said they wanted to see interviews, upcoming albums and singles and also some competitions.
I found out that most of the artists my target audience wanted to see were in the pop/rock genre e.g p!nk, muse, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, Nickie Manaj and Emile Sande. I will try to include some of these artists and other artists in this genre.
I will create my magazine from using the Internet for images and for content I might need. I will first hand draw my designs and then use photo shop to create the pages.
I will makes sure my magazine represents the different social groups by taking in to account all the feedback I have gathered from the participants in my survey. For example, i will include artists from a select few genres so that the magazine appeals to many people who are in my target audience as they don't all like the same exact genre. I will also take in feedback of the different layouts and colour themes people want so that the magazine will appeal to more people. If I only listen to one type of social group, the magazine will only attract that type of group and I wouldn't appeal to everyone in the target audience.
The media institution that I wish to publish my magazine is Bauer Media as it publishes many music magazines and popular magazines targeted at the same target audience and age group as me. The main target audience for my music magazine will be between the ages of 16 and 24, because that was the most common age group to take part in my survey, who like music magazines.
I will attract my audience by taking into account the results my survey showed. For example, my target audience said that they would like to have a mixture of text images, busy pages and simplistic pages, so I am going to try and incorporate all of these things on my pages. I am also going to attract the target audience by incorporating some of the music artists that the audience in my survey asked for, as well as ones that weren't mentioned but popular with this certain age group. I will also attract my target audience by giving the magazine a realistic and reasonable price which the audience will be willing to pay. I will also use colours that attract my target audience and colours that people mentioned in my survey to make the over all look appealing.
